I love the line about "I've learned to live half alive"
That line is so painfully beautiful
Heart so broken, that even though have moved on,
you've lost a part of yourself.
Or having to numb yourself from pain, to move forward.
The song's obviously about a romantic relationship,
but it makes me think of people i know who have lost their lover
As time passes, they seem semi-okay,
but sometimes see this look on their face,
as if they're forcing themselves to even function...

to where feel that kind of agony over them hurting you,
it would be such a struggle to be ever strong enough
to not 'fall back in his arms'

p/s : It expresses deep feeling with such beautiful imagery and i think it would identify with anyone. Who of us has not either experienced or watched someone else experience this very dilemma: fighting your heart when your head knows that a person is unworthy of your love?
